Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy is located in the volcanic heart of Siberia. Near the wondrous Kamchatka volcano, as well as many others, this city is surrounded by the most breathtaking mountains, forests, volcanos, and bays. The city was founded by the Danish explorer Vitus Bering, in 1740, who also discovered the Bering Strait. This spectacular nature is almost completely untouched by the human hand. Yet, despite the city's isolation from the rest of the country, it is a very popular tourist place due to its undeniable natural beauty. It is the second largest city in the world that you cannot reach by roads!
